SHIATZY CHEN 2018 FW AD Campaign
The Silk Road is the place where East meets West. Our final stop on the route this season was Dunhuang. The breathtaking beauty of this thousand-year-old spot stirred up an undercurrent of purest emotion in the hearts of our designers and inspired them to infuse that beauty into the 2018 Fall/Winter menswear and womenswear lines. The designers put their expertise to work combining eastern and western elements and using graceful, elegant silhouettes from the 1950s to enhance and interpret the rich colors of Dunhuang. The distilled result of their concepts and design ideas is a stunning interweaving of the retro and the avant-garde.
As the brand enters its fortieth year, we continue to look toward the future. The blueprint conceptualized by Design Director, Shiatzy Chen, reaches into every corner of this year's line, from the colorful clothes to the fashion shows and publicity films. This season, we collaborated with German photographer Serena Becker once again. In the relaxed and playful dynamic created by Becker, the models were in constant motion, with the photographer capturing spontaneous instants to create a vision of always moving forward.
This season's publicity video features models Lorna Foran and Xue Dongqi together with Nicolaj Springborg. They convey the season's themes and present the looks with a cool spontaneity that is enhanced by the handbag and shoe embellishments to fully bring out the elegance of both the women's and men's fashions of the 2018 Shiatzy Chen Autumn/Winter collection.
